The world of a 4-5-year-old is filled with wonder, and through "A Trip Down The River," I aimed to create an immersive journey that taps into this curiosity. This River Fauna Exploration Kit invites preschoolers to explore the vibrant wildlife of India's rivers, designed to nurture their natural inquisitiveness through play-based learning and storytelling.

Understanding the Adventurers
Children aged 4-5 are at an age where they thrive on sensory exploration and peer interaction. Language skills are expanding, and they're most engaged when learning is fun, visual, and hands-on. To understand that better, I did a behavioral study on a sample size of children.

The Concept
The core idea of "A Trip Down The River" was to give children the tools to discover the fascinating creatures inhabiting the Ganga river —through play, art, and problem-solving. The kit introduces children to different animals while promoting cognitive growth, creativity, and a deeper connection to nature.

Each puzzle piece, a 1.5-inch wooden block, features four sides, each showing one segment of a river animal. These blocks fit together to form four complete animals—a fun, tactile challenge that improves hand-eye coordination and spatial thinking.
